Started in 1970 by by Eastern Shore native Ed Higgins, CSC has strived for over forty years to serve our customers the best local seafood available.
Mr. Higgins grew up in a family of working watermen, sailing daily from St. Michaels to work the waters of the Miles, Wye, and Choptank rivers.
By the early 1960’s Ed Higgins had traded in the watermen life and had begun an oyster and soft shell clam shucking house. Then in 1965 he began his restaurant career. His food service interest extended from Ocean City to College Park, Easton, Annapolis, and St. Michaels.
In 1970 Mr. Higgins, along with his son Glenn, opened “Ocean Cove Seafood Market” and the next year Chesapeake Seafood Caterers was established.
From those first events of fifty to one hundred customers CSC has grown in capabilities to regularly serve groups into the thousands.
By intentionally not having a “set menu” CSC takes on the Eastern Shoremen “Can Do” approach to on-site catering. No job too big, no job too small.
Now in its fifth decade of business Glenn’s son Adam is ready to “take the helm” of Chesapeake Seafood Caterers as the third generation of Native Eastern shoremen ready to serve you a menu as varied as your appetite desires.
